We continue to practice with giving Kivrin a bottle (of mommy’s expressed milk). Tonight was almost a success – after a few false starts, she took an ounce of milk from me, and then later I got her started and handed her off to Dan and she took another ounce from him.
Now, if we can just work up to her taking a bottle not from mommy, we can start thinking about things like babysitters and getting a little baby break. (Mostly, we just want to see the movie “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”, which comes out October 3rd, but we don’t think Kivrin will be ready for us to go to the movies without her yet by then. It’s good to have a goal though.)

Elisebeth was a strange baby. She took a bottle easily. As long as I wasn’t trying to give it to her. And as long as it wasn’t breastmilk. Apparently, breastmilk was only allowed to come from Mommy. But once we found a formula that didn’t make her sick, we kept a canister around just for the occasional night out.
